Hand for Handmade Foundation is deeply a committed to bettering the lives and livelihoods of artisans through Design, Production and Market support. The pandemic brought to surface the precarious existence of the artisans shrouded in insecurities and risks. HFH believes in making a concerted effort and strategic interventions that can bring about lasting change in the lives of the artisans, as well as in the larger craft ecosystem. HFH is certain that much can be done by providing critical mentoring and hand-holding support in stabilising, as well as taking craft and handmade to new levels of presence in the contemporary world.
Some of the broad contours of HFH’s work will be:
- Supporting Craft communities through interventions in design, market and production.
- Engaging in craft and handmade education space through artisan-millennial connects, webinars, workshops and masterclasses.
- Influencing the craft and handmade market space through designing appropriate agreements.
- Running the online craft and handmade portal HandmadeKatha with carefully curated contemporary products.
HFH will work with other NGOs, Corporates and Government on assignments that promote the above cause. HFH accepts donations from Indian organisations, individuals in order to be able to engage professionals and access other required resources.
